Contrast Essay Intro #1
It is the same task after all and it should be like riding a bike you climb back on and pedal away down the path. Sounds great but it seems the bike is familiar but the path has changed there are still mountains and valleys but the landscape is familiar for one second then an unknown alien like world the next minute. Taking English 101 is 1989 was a specific set of papers each defined in innate detail and taking English 101 in 2010 there are defined papers with innate details. The first set when I took English 101 in 1989 were type written double spaced on my typewriter and required precision to match a set of rules but lest you dare deviate for the subject or have an opinion or thought process that deviated from the norm then doom would befall you and most assuredly an F would be the result. Today in 2010 is no subject assigned and I’m pedaling up hill and have no brakes for the downhill slope. I’ve arrived on the alien landscape where I have to choose the subject and you want me to write about things I care about and have feelings about and I type them on a computer on a blog. I am allowed to have thoughts feelings and even mention controversial subjects and maybe even use language used out of the parlor. English 101 same subject to different worlds.

Both intros are good in different ways--this is much 'straighter' but still has plenty of juice. The other one made me laugh, though, so I kind of am partial to that one. This one is probably easier for you to work from though....
